I know holiday time gets crazy stressful and when you forget to book the holiday party entertainment, it can be the final straw to cause a full on holiday induced meltdown. Well never fear, I have put together a quick stress free guide on what to do to help you avoid such a meltdown.
Don’t panic!
Panic only causes everything you try to do become more stressful and lowers the chance of success. Take a deep breath in and out and remember that we live in an age of remarkable technology & flexibility. There is a good chance that with a little effort you can resolve the issue.
Call!!
There are many great websites that put party vendors at your fingertips. However when you are in a bind, you might not have time for all the extra steps and time such a process can take. Calling your dancer directly (or emailing in a real pinch) puts you directly in contact with them and straight into the booking discussion.
Be flexible!
Holiday time is always a busy time of year for entertainers. Sometimes they can be booked months in advance and usually do multiple shows a night. Being flexible with your show start time is a huge asset in securing the dancer you want for your event, as well as increasing your chances of finding a quality performer.
Have your party info ready to go!
There are some basic questions that almost all belly dancers like to have in hand when preparing for a show. Having the following information ready to go will speed the booking process along:
Party date & location
Type of event
Any information you have about the dance space
Ideal start time & start time range
Demographic of audience
Amount of people
Is there a dj/sound system
Deposit ready to go
Any special requests/information.
What if the dancer is already booked?
Sometimes despite the best of intentions, when you are booking last minute the first dancer you contact just cannot make it work with her schedule. The best way to continue your search is to not give up and ask the dancer for recommendations. We are a very interconnected community so asking the dancer her for top pick can be the best resource for you. They know who is dancing near where and usually have the contact information. And P.S. of course we all know the best dancers to recommend!"!
