Long Island Belly Dancer Kirah's Latest fitness find! Blogilates

This week Long Island Belly Dancer Kirah has another great fitness find to share! (and  look! As promised consistent new blogs too.) This week is all about my new found love & obsession: Cassey Ho (to the left) & Blogilates.

I don’t remember how I found her. It must have been a happenstance clocking on random youtube links late one night. Then coming back to it months later, but over the last few weeks I have begun to utilize several tools from her and I could not wait to share.

                What?

What is it? Cassey Ho is the creator of POP pilates. I started with her youtube channel and then also got her app. (I am not a huge app fan so this speaks volumes)

                Why?

  1. The length- All the clips I have seen so far have been very short. Usually 6 – 15 minutes for the whole video (including her talking). This is great for me, especially when a short work out is better than no work out…and boy are they still highly effective. Sometimes I feel too tired/ in pain/insert excuse here for a long workout but with this I say to myself: “Really, 6 minutes, really?” and sometimes do it while I am waiting for my tea to brew and cool.

  2. Movement choices – That woman is an evil genius disguised in a happy perky bubbly form. Each work out I have done has had great movements in it. They are interesting, varied and effective. Sometimes in my head I am like WHAT DID YOU DO?? WHY? SO EVIL! Or I go OOOOO that is new!  I am not bored and she pairs them well together.

  3. Safety- I like how she is continuously putting safety reminders during the workout: don’t look this way, make sure you are doing this. This is really important to me, especially as when you are working out at home with no supervision the risk of injury is greater.

  4. Extra tools- So this part had to change from my original writing. I made new discoveries and continue to explore. On her website there is a calendar each month where she pairs her videos together to create a full workout. I also downloaded her app that has the calendar digitally as well as bonus videos, recipes and more. For 99 cents a month to me it is work it. I am still exploring all her site has to offer.

I have been dealing with a long term injury & weight gain. (whole bunch of fun blogs on that so stay tuned). I have a hard time doing traditional workouts that I used to do. Finding this was a huge relief and asset to me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I only recommend things I really love and this is one of them! Check her out here: http://www.blogilates.com/ and here: https://www.youtube.com/user/blogilates. Enjoy and please remember to listen to your body and be safe.
